Your Motorcycle Tour in the Land of Lakes and Fire
Day 1
Arrival in Balmaceda - Transfer to Coyhaique
You’ll touch down in Balmaceda — one of Chile’s smallest (and windiest) airports, tucked away at the edge of Patagonia. We’ll be there to pick you up and take you straight to Coyhaique, our basecamp for adventure.
Day one is all about warming up. We meet, share stories, and get introduced to your travel partner: a rugged Royal Enfield Classic 500 that’ll carry you deep into the wild.
Day 3 - Coyhaique to Puyuhapi
Our first day on the legendary Carretera Austral takes us from Coyhaique to the remote little town of Puyuhuapi. It’s a full day in the saddle, winding through deep valleys and wild rivers.
Before rolling into town, we’ll stop at the epic Mirador Ventisquero Colgante — a jaw-dropping viewpoint where glacier and waterfall meet in a clash of ice and mist.
Then it’s time to kick back in Puyuhuapi, our home for the night, nestled between fjords and forest.
Day 5 -
Chaitén to Puerto Varas
After tackling a challenging 80 km stretch of gravel — rough, remote, and unforgettable — we roll into Caleta Gonzalo and board the ferry to Hornopirén.
Five hours to breathe. To rest. To grab a bite, share stories, and soak in the epic views as we glide past untouched coastline and lush fjords.
Once we hit land again, it’s just a couple more hours in the saddle before we reach Puerto Varas — our base for the next two nights, nestled between volcanoes and lake.
Day 7 -
Puerto Varas to Villa Angostura (Argentina)
Today’s the day – we cross the Andes!
Bags packed, bikes humming – we’re heading into a whole new world: Argentina, here we come!
After a ride full of sweeping curves and high-altitude views, we roll into the Argentinian side of the Región de los Lagos. Think snow-capped peaks, deep-blue lakes, and landscapes that make your helmet fog up with joy.
Tonight we settle in Villa La Angostura – easily one of the most beautiful villages on this side of the Andes.
If border formalities are kind, we’ll squeeze in a scenic detour to explore the legendary Bariloche before the sun sets and the beers get cold.
Day 9 -
Villa Angostura - San Martin de Los Andes.
If our last border crossing stole too much of our riding time, no worries – today we make it up. We’ll take the morning to explore more of this stunning region before heading north.
Our ride takes us along winding roads, past shimmering lakes and rugged peaks, all the way to San Martín de los Andes – a town made legendary by The Motorcycle Diaries. Yes, that’s right – we’ll literally be riding in the tracks of the young Che Guevara, retracing part of the journey that shaped a revolutionary.
It’s a ride full of history, beauty, and raw Patagonia magic.
Day 11 -
Lago Panguipulli - Lago Caburgua
Today it’s all about riding the liquid roads of Chile’s lake district. We start at Lago Panguipulli, following its curves and mountain backdrops, and cruise our way toward the white sands of Lake Caburgua – a surprise beach in the middle of volcano country.
We continue alongside Lago Villarrica, with the smoking peak of the volcano watching over us, before pulling into our cozy lakeside cabañas for the night.
🏊♂️ A swim in the chilly waters? Only for the brave. But no matter what, we’ll warm up with a classic asado, crack open a few cold ones, and swap stories around the campfire as the stars take over the sky.
Day 13 - La Baita Conguillio,
Temuco
One last breakfast in the wild, one last coffee with the crew, and a slow roll back toward civilization. The adventure doesn’t end with a bang – it winds down gently, giving us time to take it all in.
Our official tour wraps up in Temuco, but before the real world calls, we check in at a quiet cabaña just outside of town. No rush, no stress – just one final night to breathe, reflect, and hang out together before we scatter back into everyday life.
We strip down the bikes, sort out the gear, and maybe share one more beer as we pack up more than just our luggage – we pack up a story we’ll never forget.
Day 2 - Valle Simpson and the "Seis Lagos"
Today we dive into the land of the 6 Lakes — or is it 7? The locals aren’t quite sure, and that’s part of the charm.
It’s our first real day in the saddle, and we’ll ease into it with a relaxed ride through the stunning landscapes of northern Patagonia.
Gentle curves, open stretches, and a few playful bits of dirt give us time to bond with our bikes — and with each other.
Day 4 -
Puyuhapi - Chaitén
Today’s ride cuts straight through Parque Nacional Pumalín Douglas Tompkins — over 400,000 hectares of raw, untamed beauty.
We’ll cruise through ancient Valdivian rainforest, past fjords, volcanoes, and towering alerce trees that have stood for thousands of years.
Once the private vision of conservationist Douglas Tompkins, this place is now Chile’s ultimate tribute to wilderness — and we’re riding right through its heart.
Day 6 - Puerto Varas - Lago Llanquihue
One of our absolute favorites. Today we ride light and easy — no luggage, no rush.
We cruise around the stunning Lago Llanquihue, circling one of Chile’s most beautiful lakes with volcanoes watching from above.
We climb the slopes of mighty Volcán Osorno, ride through postcard views, and then wind down in the charming immigrant village of Frutillar with coffee and cake by the water.
Back in Puerto Varas, we wrap it up with beers, pizza, and a sunset over the lake. Doesn’t get much better.
Day 08 -
Day off in Argentina!
Rest Day, Argentina Style
We’ve earned it – and there’s no better place to take a breather than right here, in the heart of Argentina’s lake paradise.
Whether you’re in the mood to explore the charming streets of Villa La Angostura or head out to Bariloche for a bit of big-city buzz, today is yours. Want more saddle time? Take the bikes for a solo spin through jaw-dropping scenery. Prefer to chill? Just grab a good Malbec, a killer steak, and soak in the vibes.
We’ll hook you up with our favorite local spots – the rest is up to you.
Day 10 -
San Martin de Los Andes to Lago Panguipulli
Today we ride out of San Martín and say a temporary hasta luego to Argentina – but not before soaking in one last stunning view along the shores of Lago Lácar.
We’ll cross back into Chile and continue our journey the Wild Tracks way: on a small local ferry, usually used by farmers and off-the-grid travelers hauling gear into the mountains. Today, it’s hauling us. And what a ride – Lago Pirihueico greets us with waterfalls, jungle cliffs, and silence only broken by the ferry’s slow hum.
As the sun goes down, we roll into our destination and check in for something special: a relaxing spa session to stretch our tired bones and recharge the soul.
A day of contrasts – wild nature, remote travel, and a touch of well-earned luxury.
Day 12 -
Lago Caburgua - La Baita Conguillio
Our last full ride doesn’t go out quietly. We kick off with a raw and scenic route through Parque Nacional Hualalafquén, where the gravel gets rough and the landscapes go full wilderness mode. It’s one of those roads where every bump is worth the view.
From Villarrica, we follow the winding shores of Lago Colico, riding through the untamed beauty of the Región de Los Lagos until we reach our final destination: a wild campsite at the foot of Pichi Llaima Volcano.
And tonight? We celebrate.
The fire’s lit, the gaucho grill is loaded with local meat, veggies, and smoky flavors, and the Malbec flows freely. It’s our legendary farewell BBQ – the kind of night where new friends feel like old ones, and no one wants the ride to end.
This one’s for the books.
Day 14 -
Temuco
Departure Day
Time to part ways – but not without a proper send-off.
We’ll coordinate your transfer to Temuco airport based on your flight time. No rush – it’s a small, easy airport, and we’ll make sure you get there stress-free.
This is where we say goodbye… for now.
But once you’ve ridden with us, you’re always part of the Wild Tracks crew.
We hope the road brings you back our way soon. Until then – ride wild.
